This exciting workshop is designed to engage and inspire older adults. Participants will listen to poetry, explore various forms, poetic devices, and share their own poems based on prompts given.
This is an eight-week course and attendance is necessary at each session, as the information will build on previous sessions.
This exciting workshop is designed to engage and inspire older adults. Participants will listen to poetry, explore various forms, poetic devices, construct and share their own poems based on prompts given. The eight-week experience will culminate in a Poetry Café where participants will showcase their poetry.
This course is funded by Creative Aging Ohio and presented by Sandra Rivers-Gill. Sandra Rivers-Gill is an award-winning poet, playwright, performer and teaching artist in Toledo, Ohio. Her poetry is influenced by family, community, and injustices, and has been featured in numerous literary print journals, online and in anthologies. She is the author of, As We Cover Ourselves With Light, her debut poetry collection which was a finalist for the Eric Hoffer Book Award.
