From the research of James Kouzes and Barry Posner's "The Leadership Challenge," explore the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership and how these practices can be put into motion in daily life.
Leadership at its core is based on the relationships that are built between the leader and the followers. From the research of James Kouzes and Barry Posner's The Leadership Challenge, participants will explore the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership and how these practices can be put into motion in their own day to day activities. With small group discussion and self reflection, individuals will walk away with a stronger sense of how they can show up authentically as the extraordinary leaders they strive to be.
Anna Toney, a Toledo Native is the current executive director at Leadership Toledo. Moving back to the area in 2011, Anna was a participant in the Leadership Toledo class where she discovered her passion for the non-profit world, the NW Ohio region and celebrating all that it has to offer. In 2012, she was hired as the program coordinator for the organization; eventually becoming the program director for Youth Leadership Toledo. At that time, she also began her master’s in organizational leadership at Lourdes University, graduating in 2014. In 2017, Anna was hired as only the third executive director in the organization’s 40 year history. Since taking on that role, Anna is taking action to keep the vision of cultivating a community of leaders, both youth and adults, in the Toledo Region.
In addition to her time with Leadership Toledo, she sits on the board of Notre Dame Academy and the Valentine Theatre.
Anna lives in Toledo with her husband, Kevan and their four children.
This event is sponsored by Leadership Toledo and is part of Better Toledo, a personal and professional development series to ensure “you will do better in Toledo.”
