Learn the basics of Stay Interviews, a five-question system designed to increase employee engagement and retention.
A Stay Interview is a structured discussion leaders conduct with individual employees to learn the specific actions needed to strengthen an employee’s engagement and increase retention within the organization. C-Suite Analytics expert, Lora Fish, will provide an overview of the five-question system and explain how to implement it with your employees.
Lora Fish, SHRM-SCP, has 30 years of experience improving employee retention and engagement at all career levels in varied industries including healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, government, and non-profits.
After managing programs that prepared more than 3,000 job seekers to be workforce-ready and seeing the struggle businesses had keeping employees, Lora went looking for better ways to teach businesses how to hold on to their workers. She discovered Dick Finnegan’s book “HR’s Greatest Challenge” and took it a step further by becoming a Certified Stay Interview Expert.
Leveraging her experience and her training, she now works nationwide supporting leaders in their retention and engagement efforts. She connects to her clients and leaders through a down-to-earth style, helping each leader to make a personal connection to the material, garnering active participation, and getting them excited to implement what they have learned. Lora enjoys it most when leaders routinely surprise themselves by how quickly and effectively, they are building their leadership skills through learning how to listen and improving how they support their teams.
Lora offers every client step-by-step support and best practices while encouraging customization for their unique needs. Recently, she helped Sysco Distribution cut turnover by 29% in the first 9 months by implementing Finnegan’s Arrow with special focus on a revamped hiring approach, training leaders to conduct Stay Interviews, and holding them accountable to retention goals.
Lora has a BSBA in Human Resources Management from Ohio State University and is especially adept with the challenges of workers who experience daily instability. She is certified as a Workplace Stability Facilitator and Getting Ahead in the Workplace Facilitator. She plays ukelele and gets outside every chance she can.
