The School Year VolunTEEN program runs September through March, and is for teens ages 13 (must be 13) through high school graduation. An online volunteer account and one-hour training are mandatory!

As a School Year VolunTEEN, you will be trained to interact with staff, children, and families in completing activities and crafts, playing games and reading with children of all ages, straightening shelves, assisting with programs, and fulfilling optional opportunities based on the needs of your Library’s location. Training is mandatory to prepare you for the VolunTEEN experience! At training, you will learn the dos and don'ts of being a VolunTEEN, Library policies and procedures, available opportunities and how to sign up for them.

School Year VolunTEENS can volunteer at only one (1) Library Location and must be trained at that specific location. Therefore, please register for training at the location where you plan to volunteer!

Beginning September 1st, please visit www.toledolibrary.org/volunteer to create a School Year VolunTEEN account. You will receive confirmation once your account is created (please check your inbox immediately for verification and next step instructions). Remember to CREATE an account on or after September 1st, and most importantly, please REGISTER for a training session online or at your favorite Library Location. Register early, space may be limited! Some locations only offer a few volunteer opportunities for the school year!

Remember, the VolunTEEN program is for teens ages 13 (must be 13 at the time of account creation) through high school graduation, and creating an online volunteer account and training is mandatory! If you have further questions, please contact the VolunTEEN Supervisor at the Library Location where you would like to volunteer. You can also contact Mrs. Talena Reynolds, Volunteer and Partnership Liaison, at 419.259.5229 or talena.reynolds@toledolibrary.org.
