Meeting Room B (Capacity : 50)

Local author Tom Madigan will read from his debut novel, Los Angeles Land---a thriller inspired by paranormal and true crime events witnessed firsthand by Madigan.

A thriller based on true crime. A young man from the Midwest drives to Hollywood, CA to take a shot at writing and producing motion pictures. Without savings or a job, he finds himself mixed up in a dangerous living situation after taking a quasi-caretaking position for an estranged old man in exchange for free rent.  Books will be available for purchase at this event.

About the Author:

Tom Madigan is a Michigan native who grew up in a small town on the Great Lakes before moving to the Toledo area in the early 90s. After college at Bowling Green State University, he moved to Los Angeles without a job or housing lined up to pursue screenwriting and filmmaking in Hollywood. Little did he know the extraordinary (and sometimes hilarious!) challenges in store, and came face-to-face with dastardly and dangerous circumstances, including finding a supposedly "free rent" living situation in exchange for a quasi-caretaking position of an estranged old man. After returning to the Midwest many years later, he wrote his first novel, Los Angeles Land, a fictional thriller partially inspired by true crime and paranormal events, some of which the author was allegedly exposed to firsthand.
