Minli is a young girl who works hard in the fields near Fruitless Mountain, and her nights listening to her Father recite fantastical tales about Jade the Dragon and the Moon. Her Mother is skeptical of the nonsense these stories are filling Minli's head with. In a desire to change her family's fortune, Minli embarks on a quest to find The Man in the Moon her father so vividly described, encountering a menagerie of magical characters along the way. A Middle grade read (ages 8-12) and Newberry Honor book.
