The quilt is a visual representation of the largest immigrant detention system in the world. View all six quilts at these locations: Mott, South, Sylvania, Locke, Holland, Washington.

On an average day, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detains nearly 45,000 immigrants and asylum seekers. Glen Ring and over 60 artists and activists created six 9 ft. by 9 ft. quilts made up of 45 patches. Each patch contains 1,000 marks to represent the number of detained individuals. The quilt is a visual representation of the largest immigrant detention system in the world.

The 45,000 Quilt is on loan from Concord, New Hampshire, during the month of September as a part of the celebration for Welcoming Week and Latinx Heritage Month. The panels on the colorful quilt have been painted, stamped, quilted, embroidered or prepared using a variety of methods. Visit these locations to view the full quilt: Mott, South, Sylvania, Locke, Holland, Washington.
