Join Toledo Opera for a musical adventure inspired by the famous opera, The Pirates of Penzance. Explore the setting, help the characters solve problems and add your own details to the story.

Parents will discover fun ways to use music and drama at home to inspire creativity and learning! This program will take place via Zoom and be available for later viewing as a recording. It is geared towards children in preschool through grade 3 and their families. Please register today and receive a Zoom Live link and password prior to the event.

Christina Farrell is the founder of Opera Ignite, a non-profit organization specializing in arts-integrated educational programs, and the creator of AN OPERA IS A STORY, a classroom residency program for preschool students that uses opera as a vehicle for young children to develop early literacy and social-emotional skills. A Master Teaching Artist with the Wolf Trap Early Learning through the Arts Institute, she has facilitated teacher trainings across the country and internationally. Ms. Farrell is the recipient of a 2011 Fred Rogers Memorial Scholarship presented by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and currently consults with the Iowa Arts Council on quality teaching artist training and arts-integration partnerships between arts organizations and schools.
