A book club for true crime devotees - with discussions covering books, documentaries, and podcast about past and recent true crime events.
If you too possess a festering interest in true crime and have long desired an outlet for like-minded true crime enthusiasts to gather and discuss, there is FINALLY a book club for us devotees. We will be covering books, documentaries, and podcasts that cover past and recent true crime events. Some titles will have limited availability.* It is not necessary to have read the titles to enjoy or take part in the group. We are about having fun and having spirited discussions with other devotees and Murderinos. Here is what we will discuss at each session:
Sept. 4 - Devil's Knot: The True Story of the West Memphis Three by Mara Leveritt / Believe the children a moral panic in the 1980s by Richard Beck.
Oct. 2 - Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakauer / The Witness Wore Red by Rebecca Musser / and the podcast Cold - about the disappearance of Susan Powell
Nov. 6 - The Fact of a Body by Alexandria Marzano-Lesnevich / The Sunflower by Simon Wessenthal
Dec. 4 - The Shoemaker: the anatomy of a psychotic by Flora Schreiber / Last Podcast on the Left episodes 356 and 357 about Joseph Kallinger - aka The Shoemaker
*A note on acquiring titles: Please place requests through the Library catalog, if there aren't any available, place a request through Search Ohio or Ohio Link.
