"Soul Food" is a term that originated from the Southern traditions of African American women who cooked in their family kitchens and has been documented back to the original slaves brought here from Africa. This style of food preparation has its roots from West Africa, Europe, North and South America, and the Caribbean! The term "Soul Food" was modeled during the 1960's as one of the cooking styles in the Black American cultural movement.
You will also learn the history of J'Mae's origins and contributions to the city of Toledo. J'Mae's will prepare and serve one of the most quintessential dishes in the soul food category, baked Macaroni and Cheese! Each branch will have a sample taste of this delicious dish.
